Ending Intimate Partner Violence
Rebecca Cheptegei, a Ugandan marathon runner who placed 44th in the Paris Olympics last month, was tragically murdered by her former partner. She is the third elite female athlete killed in Kenya in the past three years, and globally, over 133 women and girls are killed daily by intimate partners or family members. In their memory, let’s support nonprofits changing deeply ingrained gender norms, ending this violence, and ensuring girls’ futures are all their own.
Girl Up Initiative Uganda
Empowers adolescent girls to become leaders and reach their full educational potential, and equips boys to champion gender equality.
Kakenya's Dream
Provides life-altering education and healthcare to Kenyan girls while educating communities on healthy interpersonal relationships.
